MITO Restaurant in Leipzig

"This place is an absolute gift for this city. The food, the presentation, the music, the wine list, the overall style…impeccable. If they would be closer to the center they would swim in money. The way things are you have to take a bit of a trip. Take it. It is the best Japanese place left in Leipzig. Ingredients are fresh, the mixture interesting and it extremely diverse. The only thing for me is I found the menu to be too big. But that is a ridiculous complaint."

"Located in the Asian goods and food area a bit outside of Leipzig is a Japanese gem restaurant. Sophisticated design, pleasant background music, professional and friendly service. We decided to go with Chefs selection (double trouble) for two and it was a win. Beautiful selection of taste, texture and flavors. We had miso soup and variety of sushi, sashimi, maki and and spicy rolls in a crust - all beautiful to look and to eat. Highly recommend."

"Dinner started with hot and fresh ginger tea, which was served with honey. Later on, our appetizer came hot and fresh: Edamame. We expected it to be a bit saltier, but we could have asked for it. However, we didn’t complain as the hidden salt intake is already very high. Chosen mains were Angry Chicken and Mito Duck Taikare. Delicious! All other adjectives, which are needed to describe it, have been used already. For the composition on the plate, see the pictures below. We strongly recommend all enjoy a meal at Mito if you are around here. The staff is outstandingly friendly, fast, and just perfect!"

The duck curry was a highlight: tender, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. For dessert, we shared both the crème catalonia and the matcha tiramisu – both were creative, delicious, and a perfect way to end the meal. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive without ever being intrusive. The atmosphere was stylish yet relaxed, making it a great spot for a romantic evening.
